BDA is a new research tool for historians and genealogists comprising transcripts and indexes of many original records and published biographies of deceased individuals who arrived in or were born in Australia, starting from the earliest times.
Doubled in size with new datasets added in 2015, BDA now contains convict, muster, census, baptism, marriage & burial manuscript records for most of the NSW population 1788-1828+, for Norfolk Island & Tasmania 1802-1811, 160,000 Colonial Secretary records 1788-1825 & many immigrant and convict records 1829-1837 including tickets of leave along with full text short biographies of 24,000+ residents & clergy of most colonies/states published 1878-1907, 7,000 user contributed ABGR biographies, 10,000 Sydney burials & inscriptions 1819-1901 & much more. Records of life events are linked to create a Biographical Report. From one report, subscribers can hyperlink to another biography, to spouses, parents, children, witnesses, employers, employees and so on, through the entire database. See Sample.
